Two years after his resignation, the former CEO of the University of Maryland Medical System is the subject of controversy over his $7.8 million pay package, according to a report in the Baltimore Sun.
The pay package was just disclosed in filings with the IRS and came under fire because it was granted without full board approval.
The CEO's compensation included $2.4 million in severance, $639,000 in salary for seven months, deferred bonuses and contributions to a retirement plan, according to the Sun.
