While Doctors Medical Center in San Pablo, Calif., will receive a $10 million county loan, Contra Costa County supervisors warned the safety-net hospital that it can't expect regular cash infusion and must get its finances in order, according to a San Francisco Business Times report.
The public hospital is struggling with a short-term cash flow crunch and its patient mix, comprised mostly of Medi-Cal and uninsured patients. It plans to use the loan to receive matching funds from the federal government.
