Bamberg, Barnwell Counties Revive Plans for Health System in South Carolina

Bamberg (S.C.) and Barnwell (S.C.) counties have restored plans to create a regional healthcare system after both county councils gave initial approval to create the dual-county healthcare park, according to a Times and Democrat report.

The two counties were previously in discussions with Allendale County to create Tri-County Regional Health System. However, Allendale County has since dropped out of the proposal. Memphis, Tenn.-based Dobb Equity Partners will partner with the two counties to develop the two-county healthcare system, which will include a 50-bed regional hospital centrally located between the two counties, according to the report.
