WakeMed Health & Hospitals in Raleigh, N.C., announced President and CEO Bill Atkinson will step down from his role, effective Oct. 1.
Citing differences in the future direction of the organization, the WakeMed Board of Directors and Dr. Atkinson agree that the separation is in the best interest of both parties, according to a news release from the hospital.
An interim CEO has not yet been named, and a national search will be conducted for the new CEO.
