Donna Katen-Bahensky, president and CEO of Madison, Wis.-based UW Hospital and Clinics, will retire Sept. 1. Her position will then be eliminated.
Ms. Katen-Bahensky said the president and CEO position will be eliminated as part of ongoing effort to bring UW Hospital and Clinics and its physician group, UW Medical Foundation, into the single integrated organization of UW Health.
The system did not name the individual who will take on Ms. Katen-Bahensky's responsibilities.
Ms. Katen-Bahensky has led UW Hospital and Clinics since 2008. Before she assumed this role, she served as CEO of the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, as well as the senior associate vice president for medical affairs at the University of Iowa Health Care, also in Iowa City.
