Kenneth J. Rempher, PhD, RN, will become the new CNO of the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics of Iowa City, effective July 15.
Dr. Rempher has been serving as interim CNO since April and previously served as the associate CNO and associate director of hospital services since 2012. While at UI Health Care, he has encouraged nursing excellence and accountability, has lead the development of a nursing and patient care services quality plan and has driven the redesign of systems to optimize nurse staffing and department financial performance.
Dr Rempher also previously served as the assistant vice president of patient care services at Baltimore-based Sinai Hospital in addition to working in many leadership roles at Washington Hospital Center in Washington D.C.
Dr. Rempher has also served on the National Workgroup to Revise the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice for Nurse Administrators, was an editorial board member for AACN Clinical Issues and has been a peer reviewer of manuscripts for numerous nursing publications.
