University of Iowa Health Care in Iowa City has selected Timothy Kan to serve as its first chief growth officer, effective Dec. 2.
In his new role, Mr. Kan will be responsible for driving growth via programs and services to create an integrated system of care. He will work in partnership with clinical department leaders.
Most recently, he served as a director at Navigant Consulting, a management consultancy. He led strategy practice in the firm's west region.
Mr. Kan holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., and a master of arts in medical sciences degree from Boston University School of Medicine.
"With more Iowans than ever seeking care from UI Health Care, it is key for us to have an experienced leader to help identify and guide new programs and opportunities that will better serve our patients," said Suresh Gunasekaran, associate vice president of UI Health Care and CEO of UI Hospitals & Clinics.
