Raleigh, N.C.-based UNC Rex Healthcare has hired Susan Sandberg, BSN, as COO, according to a Triangle Business Journal report.
Here are three things to know about Ms. Sandberg.
1. She is filling the role previously held by Steve Burriss, who became president of UNC Rex Healthcare, owned by Chapel Hill, N.C.-based UNC Health Care, after David Strong left the system. Mr. Strong now serves as CEO of Orlando (Fla.) Health.
2. Most recently, she was regional COO of Indianapolis-based Community Health Network.
3. Ms. Sandberg earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Minnesota State University Mankato and a master's degree in business administration from Chicago-based DePaul University.
