Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health System has ousted the CEO and COO of Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, Calif., according to a Los Angeles Times report.
Fifteen members of the hospital's 17-member board of directors were also dismissed.
CEO Lou Lazatin and COO Eleanor Ramirez were fired and replaced by Mike Wall and Ken Meehan, effective last Thursday. According to the report, Ms. Lazatin was fired and escorted from the building, and the board members were fired via email on Thursday.
Saint John's Health Center has been losing money in recent years; the hospital reported a net income loss of $20.7 million in 2010, as reported by the American Hospital Directory.
Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, Saint John's owner, did not comment on the dismissal, according to the report.
