River Park Hospital in McMinnville, Tenn., a part of the Capella-Saint Thomas system of hospitals, has named Penny Kirby, RN, MSN, its new CNO.
Ms. Kirby previously served as CNO at McKenzie (Tenn.) Regional Hospital since 2009. She also served as director of nursing for Van Ayer Nursing Center and Rehabilitation Center in Martin, Tenn., and also in leadership roles at Union City (Tenn.) Surgery Center and Regional Hospital of Jackson (Tenn.).
Ms. Kirby is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, American College of Healthcare Executives and American Organization of Nurse Executives.
"With 19 years of clinical experience, including more than 15 in leadership positions, Penny will be a great addition to our team. […] Her skills in team-building, her leadership experience and, most importantly, her uncompromising commitment to quality will help to escalate our progress," Tim McGill, CEO of River Park Hospital, said in a release.
The Capella-Saint Thomas system of hospitals is a joint venture between Franklin, Tenn.-based Capella Healthcare and Nashville, Tenn.-based Saint Thomas Health.
