Rapid City, S.D.-based Regional Health has named Brent R. Phillips, MHA, MBA, president and CEO, effective Jan. 1, 2015.
Most recently, Mr. Phillips served at Milwaukee-based Aurora Health Care, first as senior vice president of medical group operations and eventually also as president for Greater Milwaukee South, overseeing four hospitals for Aurora Health Care. Prior to joining Aurora Health Care, Mr. Phillips served in a senior leadership role with Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., for 10 years and as an administrator and executive director for Sentara Healthcare in Norfolk, Va., for eight years.
"I look forward to the opportunity to lead Regional Health and work with community leaders to better serve the health care needs of western South Dakota and the surrounding counties," Mr. Phillips said. "I will focus on building engagement with physicians and employees so we can dramatically improve the patient experience and make health care delivery simpler for patients, their families, our physicians and caregivers."
Mr. Phillips will succeed Charles E. Hart, MD, MS, who served as Regional Health's president and CEO for 10 years. Dr. Hart announced plans to retire earlier this year.
