Kerry Carmody, regional COO of Providence Health & Services, Southern California, has announced his retirement.
Mr. Carmody has been with the Providence health system for nearly 40 years. Since April, he has served as the interim CEO at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, Calif., the hospital where he began his career with Providence in 1973 working as a laboratory scientist.
He will remain a regional COO with the health system until Nov. 1 to ease the transition for a new regional COO for Providence Southern California.
"Kerry is the heart and soul of Providence in the Valley and beyond," Michael Hunn, senior vice president and chief executive of Providence Southern California, said in a statement.
