Paul Cardwell Resigns as CEO of Powell Valley Healthcare in Wyoming; Asks to Return

Paul Cardwell resigned as CEO of Powell Valley Healthcare in Powell, Wyo., last week but has since had a change of heart, according to a Powell Tribune report.

According to the report, Mr. Cardwell submitted his resignation to the hospital board and HealthTech Management Services after hearing "his presence was no longer desired as CEO," though he did not delve into who made such statements or any other details. HealthTech Management Services employed Mr. Cardwell for his management of the health system.

After reportedly learning the aforementioned notions were "deceitful," Mr. Cardwell asked the board to be reinstated as the CEO. However, Neil Todhunter, regional vice president for HealthTech, who was appointed interim CEO, stated Mr. Cardwell's resignation is still in effect after the hospital board held an executive session and public meeting.

Mr. Todhunter will serve as interim CEO for less than two weeks, after which time another outside interim CEO will take over until a permanent replacement is named, according to the report.
