The board of managers for Houston-based Harris Health System voted to not renew president and CEO David Lopez's contract when it expires on July 8, according to a Houston Chronicle report.
Mr. Lopez has led the health system since 2005, previously serving in an interim capacity since 2004.
The health system's board did not give explicit reasons for not renewing Mr. Lopez's contract, but said Harris Health System needs a leadership change and a new direction to deal with healthcare reform, according to the report.
