Tom Gessel has been hired as CEO of Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango, Colo., according to a report by The Durango Herald.
Mr. Gessel will take over the CEO position from Kirk Dingum, PhD, who is retiring in October.
Mr. Gessel has 24 years of healthcare administration experience. He has served as CEO of Saints Mary & Elizabeth Medical Center in Louisville, Ky., for six years, according to the report.
