Houston-based Memorial Hermann Health System has selected Feby V. Abraham, PhD, as executive vice president and chief strategy officer, effective Jan. 6.
In his role, Dr. Abraham will focus on the health system's strategic priorities and guiding them in line with the organization's vision to create healthier communities, Memorial Hermann said in a news release.
"The healthcare industry is at an inflection point in terms of value-based care and consumer demand across all aspects of the care experience," said health system President and CEO David L. Callender, MD. "Providers must be poised to respond and meet patients’ needs in high-reliability, high-quality and lower-cost scenarios, and we want to strengthen our leadership team to address just that."
Dr. Abraham, a healthcare veteran, most recently was a partner at McKinsey & Co., where he advised private equity funds. He also has worked with healthcare companies on topics such as corporate strategy in a disruptive environment, digital strategy and business value creation.
He has a doctorate in mechanical engineering from Rice University in Houston and a bachelor's degree from the Indian Institutes of Technology in Mumbai, India.
