Medical Center Health System CEO Rick Napper to retire in September: 3 notes

Rick Napper, president and CEO of Odessa, Texas-based Medical Center Health System, is planning to retire, effective Sept. 15, according to an Odessa American report.

Three notes:

1. Mr. Napper has led the organization since Dec. 17, 2017, a press release obtained by the Odessa American notes.

2. He decided to retire because of the "ongoing challenges of healthcare and concern for the impact that it may have on my health," he said.

3. Mr. Napper oversaw the organization for part of its troubled rollout of the Cerner EHR, which began in April 2017. Cerner eventually took over the IT department at Medical Center Health System in August 2018.
