Lee Domanico, CEO of Greenbrae, Calif.-based MarinHealth Medical Center and the Marin Healthcare District that owns the hospital, is retiring, the Marin Independent Journal reported.
"I've pretty much accomplished what I set out to do 10 years or so ago," Mr. Domanico told the newspaper. "So, it's a good time to transition to new leadership."
Mr. Domanico has led the district and the hospital since 2010.
During his tenure, he oversaw the transfer of the hospital from a large system to a freestanding publicly accountable hospital, according to the hospital website. Marin is also building a hospital wing to meet state earthquake-resistance standards. The wing is expected to open to patients in August, according to the Independent Journal.
Mr. Domanico told the newspaper he anticipates leaving before the end of the year.
Before joining Marin, Mr. Domanico was CEO of El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, Calif.
