Hackensack (N.J.) University Medical Center has named Richard S. Freeman CEO of the proposed Hackensack University Medical Center at Pascack Valley in Westwood, N.J., according to an LHP Hospital Group news release.
Mr. Freeman recently served as COO of Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. He has also held several positions with Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare, including CEO of Delray Community Hospital in Delray Beach, Fla.
The Pascack Valley facility has not opened yet, as LHP, HUMC's partner in the Pascack Valley venture, and HUMC filed a certificate of need only on June 1 to reopen former Pascack Valley Hospital, a move that has been opposed by Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, N.J., and Englewood (N.J.) Hospital and Medical Center.
