Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital CEO Tim Bess steps down

Somerset, Ky.-based Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital CEO Tim Bess resigned March 5, according to a Commonwealth Journal report.

Mr. Bess left to "pursue other leadership opportunities within [Brentwood, Tenn.-based] LifePoint Health," Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital's parent, the report states. He assumed the CEO role at the hospital in 2014, prior to which he was CEO of Wythe County Community Hospital in Wytheville, Va., another LifePoint facility.

During Mr. Bess' tenure, the hospital affiliated with UK Markey Cancer Center in Lexington, Ky., for radiation oncology services and established a patient-or family representative-specific seat on its board of trustees.

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital COO Elizabeth Jones took over as interim CEO while the hospital searches for a permanent successor, according to the report.
