Karen Faulis, RN, BSN, has been named CEO of Hi-Desert Medical Center in Joshua Tree, Calif., effective Feb. 22, according to a Hi-Desert Star report.
Here are five things to know about Ms. Faulis.
1. She has extensive hospital leadership and clinical experience.
2. Since 2008, she has served as COO of Palmdale (Calif.) Regional Medical Center/Lancaster (Calif.) Community Hospital. Lancaster Community Hospital closed after the opening of Palmdale Regional Medical Center.
3. In her COO role, she helped lead efforts to relocate and license a 121-bed acute care hospital, managed business development and physician recruitment initiatives and contributed to medical staff and business development strategic plans, according to the report.
4. She was interim CEO of Palmdale Regional Medical Center/Lancaster Community Hospital for 18 months.
5. Ms. Faulis earned a master's degree as a clinical nurse specialist in critical care and a bachelor's degree in nursing from State University of New York at Buffalo.
