Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente has named Ronald Copeland, MD, as senior vice president of national diversity strategy and policy as well as chief diversity officer, effective Jan. 1.
Dr. Copeland currently serves as president and executive medical director of Ohio Permanente Medical Group in Cleveland. As chief diversity officer, he will lead Kaiser Permanente's diversity efforts to create and sustain a cultural competence that supports the mission of the organization, according to the report.
For the remainder of this year, Dr. Copeland will continue in his current role in OPMG to help transition his successor, Nabil Chehade, MD, MSBS.
