The Rev. Leah Gunning Francis, PhD, was named senior vice president and chief mission and values officer of Indianapolis-based Indiana University Health.
In her new role, the Rev. Dr. Gunning Francis will oversee various departments, including chaplaincy, spiritual care and congregational partnerships, and lead the health system's board committee on values, ethics and social responsibility, according to a Jan. 5 news release. She will also oversee the IU Health Foundation, the Dan F. Evans Center for Spiritual and Religious Values in Healthcare and the Fairbanks Center for Medical Ethics.
Previously, the Rev. Dr. Gunning Francis served as vice president for academic affairs and dean of the faculty at Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis.
