Henry Ford Hospital's new CEO is Dr. Richard Davis

Detroit-based Henry Ford Health System appointed Richard Davis, PhD, CEO of Henry Ford Hospital, also in Detroit, effective Nov. 15.

In addition, Dr. Davis will serve as senior vice president and CEO of Henry Ford's south market, which comprises Wayne and Monroe Counties as well as Eastern Washtenaw County.

Dr. Davis currently serves as president and CEO of Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C., a part of Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins Medicine. He has worked at Johns Hopkins for 25 years and previously served as vice president of innovation and patient safety.

Dr. Davis played a key role in establishing Johns Hopkins' Innovation Hub and founded the organization's Center for Innovation, now known as the Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality.

Dr. Davis completed his PhD in public health at Johns Hopkins University. He succeeds John Popovich, Jr., MD, who retired earlier in the year.
