Jyric Sims, PhD, was named president of Nashville,Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare's West Florida division.
Dr. Sims is CEO of HCA's Medical City Plano (Texas) and Medical City Frisco (Texas) hospitals. He will begin his new role June 12, according to a news release. He will succeed Ravi Chari, MD, who will retire to pursue opportunities in early-stage healthcare companies.
Dr. Sims has been with HCA since 2011 and served in his current role since 2021. Before his current role, he was CEO of Medical City Fort Worth (Texas) beginning in 2017.
Dr. Sims also previously served as vice president and COO of Tulane Health System in New Orleans; COO of St. Lucie Medical Center in Port St. Lucie, Fla.; and associate COO of Clear Lake Regional Medical Center in Webster, Texas, according to the release.
HCA's West Florida division includes 15 hospitals, 27 emergency room locations, 14 ambulatory surgery centers, various physician practices, graduate medical education programs, a regional lab, and consolidated service center.
