Geisinger Health System President and CEO Glenn D. Steele, Jr., MD, has been named chairman of the board of directors for the Premier healthcare alliance.
Dr. Steele has been a member of Premier's board for nearly five years, most recently as vice chair. He succeeds Michael D. Connelly, president and CEO of Catholic Health Partners, who served as chairman for two years.
"As a long-time partner with Geisinger, we are thrilled to have Dr. Steele lead the board of the alliance," said Premier President and CEO Susan DeVore. "His expertise will help guide our 2,500 hospitals and 80,000-plus other healthcare sites to achieve transformations that support a high-quality, healthy environment, both in and out of the care setting."
