Erlanger in Tennessee Reshuffles Executives, Leaves Some With Two Titles

Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Erlanger Health has eliminated some of its executive positions through restructuring, with some leaders taking on dual roles, according to a Chattanooga Times Free Press report.

The changes follow the departure of Erlanger CEO Jim Brexler, who stepped down Dec. 31. Charlesetta Woodard-Thompson is now interim CEO.

Roger Forgey has been named CEO of Erlanger at Hutcheson in Fort Oglethorpe, Tenn. He was formerly the senior vice president of regional operations and business development at Erlanger.

Gregg Gentry, who previously headed human resources, will serve as chief administrative officer. Cy Huffman, MD, will now act as chief quality officer in addition to his role as CMO. Lynn Whisman will continue to serve as CNO and add COO to her title.

Due to leadership changes and decreased surgery numbers, Erlanger and Erlanger at Hutcheson have lost a combined $15 million in the first five months of fiscal year beginning July 1, according to the report.
