Dr. Patrice Walker named first black CMO of the Medical Center, Navicent Health

Macon, Ga.-based Navicent Health has selected Patrice Walker, MD, to serve as CMO of the Medical Center, Navicent Health, in Macon.

Dr. Walker became deputy CMO of the Medical Center, Navicent Health Nov. 5, 2018. She is the first African American to serve as deputy CMO and now, CMO.

A board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist, she has served as a member of the Medical Center, Navicent Health's medical staff. She was medical director of the OB-GYN staff for the 2016-2018 term.

Dr. Walker has served as an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon. She has also served as associate dean of diversity, equity and inclusion at the medical school.

She is a three-time winner of the National Faculty Award, presented by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
