Dr. Ken Altman named chair of otolaryngology at Geisinger Health System

Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger Health System appointed Kenneth W. Altman, MD, chair of otolaryngology, effective Aug. 12.

Dr. Altman is vice chair for clinical affairs in otolaryngology at Baylor College of Medicine and chief of otolaryngology at CHI-Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center, both based in Houston. He is also director of the Institute for Voice and Swallowing at Baylor College of Medicine.

He is the former director of the Center for Voice at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago and was director of the Eugen Grabscheid Voice Center at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City.

Dr. Altman is secretary/treasurer of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and a past president of the American Laryngological Association.
