Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Mercy Health tapped David Baumgartner, MD, to serve as interim president of Mercy Health Saint Mary's in Grand Rapids, effective Oct. 22.

1. Dr. Baumgartner is CMO of Mercy Health Saint Mary's.
2. An infectious disease physician, he has worked at the Saint Mary's for 46 years.
3. He is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America and Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America.
4. Dr. Baumgartner succeeds Bill Manns, who is leaving to serve as president of St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor (Mich.) and St. Joseph Mercy Livingston in Howell, Mich.
