Glenn Costie has been appointed director of Dayton (Ohio) Veterans Affairs Medical Center, according to a Chicago Tribune report.
Mr. Costie succeeds William Montague, who was called out of retirement in May to revamp the hospital's quality issues. Mr. Montague replaced Dayton VA's former director, who was reassigned after a probe at a hospital dental clinic revealed a dentist violated infection control policies, including proper cleaning of tools and equipment. The probe led to testing more than 500 veterans for bloodborne infection, such as HIV and hepatitis.
Mr. Costie joins Dayton VA from John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo., where he served as the director of the hospital for the past two years.
