Houston-based Memorial Hermann Health System has hired Dan Styf as senior vice president and CEO of its health plan business.
Here are four things to know about Mr. Styf.
1. He has vast experience in health insurance.
2. Most recently, he was an executive with the Piedmont WellStar Health Plans in Atlanta where he served as senior vice president and head of operations for the joint venture between Marietta, Ga.-based WellStar Health System and Atlanta-based Piedmont Health Care.
3. Previously, Mr. Styf also served more than five years as vice president for regional and marketing strategy for Kaiser Permanente in Georgia. He also served in a number of leadership roles with the Alliance of Community Health Plans in Washington, D.C., and Health Alliance Plan in Detroit.
4. Mr. Styf earned a master's degree in evaluative clinical science from DartmouthMedicalSchool in Hanover, N.H., and a bachelor's degree in biology and chemistry from Hope College, based in Holland, Mich.
