Coulee Medical Center CEO J. Scott Graham Resigns, Threatens Suit Against Hospital, Physicians

J. Scott Graham, CEO of Coulee Medical Center in Grand Coulee, Wash., has submitted a letter of resignation, citing "pattern[s] of retaliatory conduct toward me that has left me no alternative but to pursue other employment opportunities," according to a report by The Star of Grand Coulee.

In his resignation, Mr. Graham included a required 90-day notice, offering to continue his duties for the next three months, but the hospital's board of commissioners unanimously voted to waive the 90-day clause and immediately terminate his position, according to the report.

Mr. Graham said he plans to seek "liability claims" against the hospital district and the physicians for their alleged retaliatory conduct, according to the report.

Jerry Kennedy, president of the hospital commission, said the board disagreed with Mr. Graham's accusations.

Debra Bigelow was appointed interim hospital district superintendent and CEO, previously serving as CFO and director of community outreach.
