Corewell Health CEO to chair AHA Board

The American Hospital Association Board of Trustees selected Tina Freese Decker as its chair-elect designate. 

Ms. Freese Decker serves as president and CEO of Corewell Health, headquartered in Grand Rapids and Southfield, Mich. Corewell was formed in February 2022 from the combination of Southfield, Mich.-based Beaumont Health and Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Spectrum Health. With 22 hospitals, it is Michigan's largest health system. 

In addition to her work at Corewell Health, Ms. Freese Decker currently serves on AHA's Board of Trustees and previously served as a member of its Health System Leadership Council, Center for Health Innovation Advisory Council and Regional Policy Board. She will serve as chair-elect in 2024 and become AHA chair in 2025, according to a July 17 news release from the organization.
