Two executive at The Acadia Hospital in Bangor, Maine, will step down from their respective positions, effective tomorrow, according to a Bangor Daily News report.
Jamie Morrill, vice president and COO, will be leaving The Acadia Hospital to "wind down a little," according to the report. Hospital leadership will be eliminating the COO position altogether, and the associated COO duties will be spread to other executive leaders. Mr. Morrill will act as a part-time consultant to The Acadia Hospital until March 2012.
Meanwhile, CMO Allen Schaffer, MD, is stepping down from his post to provide patient care at The Acadia Hospital's psychiatric hospital, according to the report. Anthony Ng, MD, will serve as interim CMO until a permanent replacement is found.
