CHE Trinity Health, based in Livonia, Mich., has officially named Ben Carter as its executive vice president of finance and CFO.
Previously, Mr. Carter held the title of executive VP of finance at CHE Trinity Health, and he also was CFO of Trinity Health before it merged with Newtown Square, Pa.-based Catholic Health East last year. Jenny Barnett had served as interim CFO and treasurer of CHE Trinity Health as well as CFO of CHE.
In a news release, CHE Trinity Health President and CEO Richard Gilfillan, MD, said Mr. Carter is a "proven leader who will help our team meet the current challenges of healthcare finance and implement innovative financial strategies to allow us to deliver better health, better care and better value to the communities we serve."
Mr. Carter has 30 years of total experience in healthcare, 13 as a CFO and COO. In an exclusive interview with Becker's Hospital Review last October, Mr. Carter, an avid pilot, said CFOs today should amend their titles to include "chief flight officer" as they navigate their organizations' fiscal futures.
