CEO of Tewksbury (Mass.) Hospital Sandra Akers has announced she is leaving her duties to serve as bureau director for the public health hospitals, under the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, effective March 19, according to a Tewksbury Patch report.
Ms. Akers began serving Tewksbury Hospital in 2004 as chief of the nursing program. She has served as CEO since 2006.
Current COO Debra Torsti will serve as interim CEO until a permanent CEO is hired.
