Crystal Haynes has stepped down as CEO of Saint Louis University Hospital in St. Louis to pursue other opportunities, according to a St. Louis Business Journal report.
COO Dawn Anuszkiewicz was appointed to interim administrator and will oversee the hospital's daily operations. Her appointment is effective Dec. 22.
Hospital officials expect to announce a new CEO in early 2011.
Brentwood, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems offered to buy SLU Hospital's parent company, Dallas-based Tenet, last week. Ms. Haynes' departure and the recent acquisition offer are unrelated, according to a Tenet spokesperson cited in the report.
