California's Stanford Hospital & Clinics Names Interim CEO

Stanford (Calif.) Hospital & Clinics has named Mike Peterson interim CEO, following the resignation of former CEO Martha Marsh, according to a San Francisco Business Times report.

Mr. Peterson has headed planning for Stanford's new hospital project since 2009. He also served as interim CEO in 2001, the last time the hospital conducted a search for a new head executive.

Ms. Marsh, who has led Stanford since 2002, has been praised for stabilizing hospital finances after a failed merger with UC San Francisco Medical Center. She will step down at the end of August.
