Beaumont Health EVP to step down: 6 things to know

Paul LaCasse, DO, executive vice president of post-acute care and diversified business operations of Royal Oak, Mich.-based Beaumont Health, is retiring March 31.

Here are six things to know:

1. Dr. LaCasse was one of the founders of Beaumont Health. He served as president and CEO of Botsford Health Care, which merged operations with Beaumont Health System and Oakwood Healthcare to form Beaumont Health in 2014.

2. In his current executive vice president role, he oversees the health system's medical transportation companies, home health, senior living services, laboratory and pathology services, and joint ventures.

3. An emergency medicine physician, he began his career providing care at the facility now known as Beaumont Hospital, Farmington Hills (Mich.).

4. Dr. LaCasse is a past chairman of the Michigan Health & Hospital Association and of the American Osteopathic Association's Bureau of Hospitals.

5. He received the American Hospital Association's 2014 Grassroots Champions Award.

6. Dr. LaCasse will continue to provide patient care at Beaumont Hospital, Farmington Hills after stepping down from his executive role.
