Birmingham, Ala.-based St. Vincent's Health System President and CEO Neeysa Biddle is retiring, effective June 30, 2017. She is also retiring from her roles as senior vice president and Birmingham ministry market executive at St. Louis-based Ascension Healthcare, the health system's parent.
Ms. Biddle has served at the health system's helm since February 2015, prior to which she had served as executive vice president and COO. She has served on the Alabama Hospital Association's board of directors and as an adjunct faculty member at University of Alabama Birmingham's School of Health Professions. After her retirement, she will continue to share her expertise with Ascension's newly created consulting network.
St. Vincent's Health System named Jason Alexander president and CEO. He will also take over the senior vice president and Birmingham ministry market executive roles within Ascension. Currently, he is CEO of East Cooper Medical Center in Mount Pleasant, S.C., part of Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare.
Mr. Alexander also previously served as executive vice president and COO at Ascension's Providence Health System in Mobile, Ala. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
