Robert McGregor, MD, has joined Akron (Ohio) Children's Hospital as its first CMO.
Dr. McGregor previously served as pediatrician-in-chief and interim chair of pediatrics at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia and as a professor of pediatrics at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia.
Akron Children's Hospital decided to create a CMO position in order support the growth and integration of its pediatricians.
"As our integrated health system continues to grow, our board of directors, medical staff leadership and management recognized the need for a full-time CMO with a seasoned knowledge of physician practices, regional partnerships and population health initiatives," Bill Considine, president and CEO, said in a release.
Dr. McGregor started his new role Jan. 14, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
