Some health systems are eliminating their chief operating officers. Others are promoting them to the helm.
Becker's has reported the following internal COO to CEO moves since May:
1. Alec Grabowski was named network CEO of Davis Regional Medical Center in Statesville, N.C., and Lake Norman Regional Medical Center in Mooresville, N.C. He previously served as network COO.
2. Deb Cresta was promoted from executive vice president and COO of Exeter (N.H.) Health Resources to president and CEO.
3. Cory Mead was named CEO of HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital in Tamarac after serving as COO for Overland Park (Kan.) Regional Medical Center, another HCA Healthcare facility.
4. Mike Marshall, COO of Maryville, Ill.-based Anderson Healthcare, was named president and CEO.
5. Amanda Hoffman, PharmD, was promoted from COO to interim CEO of Clara Barton Medical Center in Hoisington, Kan.
6. Cindy Meyer, COO of Oconomowoc, Wis.-based Rogers Behavioral Health, was named interim president and CEO.
7. Ben Coogan was named CEO of Medical City Plano (Texas) after serving as COO of Medical City Dallas, Medical City Children's Hospital and Medical City Arlington.
8. Nichole Geraci, COO of Kittanning. Pa.-based ACMH Hospital, was named its president and CEO.
9. Brian Canfield was named CEO of Blessing Health in Quincy, Ill., after serving as COO and president of Blessing Hospital.
10. Jill Wehner was promoted to president and CEO of Harbor Beach (Mich.) Community Hospital after serving as COO and vice president of fiscal services.
11. Paige Laughlin, COO of HCA Florida Blake Hospital in Bradenton, was named interim CEO.
12. Darrin Smith was promoted from vice president and COO to CEO of Pueblo, Colo.-based Parkview Health System.
13. Corey Lovelace was promoted to CEO of HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital in Port St. Lucie, where he previously served as COO.
