David Berger, MD, has resigned as CEO of the University Hospital at Downstate in New York City.

President and CEO Terry Shaw will retire in July 2025 after a 40-year tenure at Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based AdventHealth.

LCMC Health's Touro hospital in New Orleans has named Quanna Batiste-Brown, DNP, RN, as its new chief nursing officer, effective Dec. 2. 

Lynn Carpenter, vice president and COO of Lima (Ohio) Memorial Health System, will become president and COO Jan. 1.

Mike Easley has been named interim CEO of Stephens Memorial Hospital in Breckenridge, Texas.

Alejandro Quiroga, MD, has been appointed president and CEO of Children's Mercy Kansas City (Mo.), effective Jan. 2.

Sen. George Helmy will return to West Orange, N.J.-based RWJBarnabas Health after a short term in the U.S. Senate.

West Boca Medical Center in Boca Raton, Fla., has selected Emily DeJonge, MSN, RN, to serve as associate chief nursing officer, according to a Dec. 11 news release sent to Becker's.

Steve Arner, who was promoted to president of Roanoke, Va.-based Carilion Clinic in May 2023, officially succeeded Nancy Agee, MSN, as CEO Oct. 1. Following Mr. Arner's promotion to president and CEO, the health system has made several additional appointments.

Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health has named four leaders to its greater Colorado and Kansas market within its Mountain region.

It has been a record year for CEO exits in 2024, according to Challenger, Gray & Christmas.
