In March 2011, Laura Irvine was appointed as president of Methodist Dallas Medical Center. As president, Ms. Irvine leads a 515-bed hospital and 250 physicians with expertise in more than 60 medical specialties.
Under Ms. Irvine's tenure, Methodist Dallas Medical has been ranked in the top 10 medical facilities in the Dallas-Fort Worth region in gynecology, kidney disorders and urology by U.S. News & World Report.
Ms. Irvine joined Methodist Health System in 1996 as an administrative resident at Methodist Dallas Medical Center. In three years, she advanced to vice president of Methodist Charlton Medical Center in Dallas. In 2001, Ms. Irvine accepted the position of senior vice president of planning and marketing for Methodist Health System in Dallas. As senior vice president, Ms. Irvine brought together more than 80 members of Methodist's administration, medical staff, board of directors and community to create the system's first-ever comprehensive strategic plan.
Ms. Irvine's accomplishments have been recognized by several professional organizations with awards such as the inaugural Young Healthcare Executive of the Year award by the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council and the Early Career Healthcare Executive Regent's Award from the American College of Healthcare Executives.
