Randy Oostra has served as president and CEO of ProMedica Health System in Toledo, Ohio, since Oct. 1, 2009. Mr. Oostra served as the system's COO from 2006 until he was named CEO. He joined the 11-hospital system in 1997.
Prior to joining ProMedica, Mr. Oostra held leadership positions at St. Anthony's Health System in Alton, Ill., Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, Mich., and Allina Health System in Minneapolis.
In 2012, Mr. Oostra was named to the Ohio Third Frontier Advisory Board which provides guidance to the Ohio Third Frontier Commission. The Ohio Third Frontier is a state initiative focused on boosting the state's economy by supporting companies committed to job creation, research and developing new technology-based products. "It is an honor…to help lead this initiative and provide opportunities to companies devoted to keeping Ohio on the cutting edge," Mr. Oostra said in a statement. Mr. Oostra has been involved in other organizations in the Toledo area as well. He has served on several boards of non-profit organizations, such as Cherry Street Mission and the United Way of Greater Toledo.
