Maureen Bryant is president and CEO of Provena Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, Ill. She has served since February of this year. As CEO of Provena Mercy, Ms. Bryant appreciates the skill and commitment of the hospital's nurses and caregivers. She began her healthcare career as a cardiology technician for St. Clare's Hospital in Schenectady, N.Y. For this reason, Ms. Bryant recognizes that a strong hospital and health system depends on dedicated physicians and clinical staff.

Ms. Bryant has more than 24 years of leadership experience in healthcare executive positions. Prior to her appointment as Provena Mercy CEO, she served two years as president and CEO of Morton Hospital and Medical Center in Taunton, Mass., and ten years as executive vice president and COO. During her tenure at Morton Hospital, she directed the search for a strategic partner and the eventual integration with Boston-based Steward Health Care System.
Prior to joining Morton Hospital and Medical Center, Ms. Bryant was the executive vice president and chief administrative officer of Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center for three years. Earlier in her career, she held leadership positions at The Toledo (Ohio) Hospital and Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, Mass. Ms. Bryant is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, a member of the American Hospital Association and a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
