Daniel Slipkovich co-founded Franklin, Tenn.-based Capella Healthcare in 2005. Today, he serves as CEO and chairman of the board.
With system since the beginning, Mr. Slipkovich has overseen its growth from a four-hospital system to a 15-hospital system with facilities in seven states during a time of uncertainty in the national healthcare arena. "We understand the numerous challenges facing community hospitals today," Mr. Slipkovich has said. "But we are excited about this new era in healthcare…We welcome the opportunity to help local hospitals seize a distinct competitive advantage that enables them to look to the future with strength and confidence, just like we are seeing with Capella's family of hospitals now."
And Capella's hospitals have been achieving success. In 2012, two of its hospitals were ranked first in their state by CareChex, a medical quality rating service. Capital Medical Center in Olympia, Wash., was ranked first in orthopedic care and major neurosurgery. Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville, Ark., was ranked first in women's care.
Mr. Slipkovich has also received recognitions of excellence. In 2011, the Boy Scouts of America's Middle Tennessee Chapter gave him the National Outstanding Eagle Scout Award for his professional and personal accomplishments. In 2012, Becker's Hospital Review named him on its list of 300 Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know.
Mr. Slipkovich will be a speaker at the Becker's Hospital Review 4th Annual Meeting, May 9-11, in Chicago. For more information on the event, or to register, please click here.
