For the second year in a row, the most-reported responsibility of hospital and health system senior IT executives was contributing to their organization's overall business strategy, according to the 2014 HIMSS Leadership Survey.
The top responses include:
Contributing to overall business strategy: 87 percent
Enabling CEOs/executive team to improve management through IT: 85 percent
Driving value from IT investments: 85 percent
Supporting business/clinical process owners: 84 percent
Responsible for process change management: 79 percent
Managing IT/IS department: 75 percent
Other: 3 percent
Survey results are based on responses from 298 senior-level IT executives from hospitals and health systems.
