A partnership between the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City and TruClinic will enable patients to have video-based, online visits and consultations with the hospital's clinical staff.
A pilot program focused on a small subset of patients has been in place for the past three months. Based on the pilot program's positive outcomes, an agreement has now been formalized, and plans have been made to extend the program system-wide.
"University of Utah Health Care is committed to providing care that local and regional patients need in the communities we serve. Telemedicine offers our physicians a solution for connecting with patients that live in all communities. Our efforts are geared toward removing any barriers in the way of the all-important patient-physician relationship," said Nathan Gladwell, administrative director of telehealth for the University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics, in a news release.
